Behind the Scenes in Our Workshop

Behind the Scenes in Our Workshop

Every piece that leaves RWK Kitchens & Joinery starts life as a raw slab of solid oak. Before it reaches your home, it passes through hours of careful craftsmanship — here's a glimpse into how we work.

The Wood Comes First

We source our timber carefully, selecting solid oak and live-edge slabs for their character, grain, and natural beauty. No two pieces of wood are the same, which means no two pieces of furniture are either.

Marking Out & Cutting

Once we have your dimensions confirmed, we mark out and cut each component by hand. Precision matters here — a well-fitted joint is the foundation of furniture that lasts generations.

Shaping & Joinery

This is where the real craft happens. Mortise and tenon joints, dovetails, hand-planed surfaces — we use traditional joinery techniques that have stood the test of time, combined with modern finishing for a result that's both beautiful and built to last.

Sanding & Finishing

Each piece is sanded through multiple grits before receiving its final finish. We use oils and waxes that enhance the natural grain of the oak, protecting it while letting the wood breathe and age gracefully.

Final Checks & Dispatch

Before anything leaves the workshop, it goes through a thorough quality check. Only when we're happy with every detail does it get carefully packaged and sent on its way to you.
